So, I am in the middle of watching the live feed of Mark Zuckerberg’s announcement about the new changes to Facebook at F8.
I can’t wait to here all the complaints about the changes, but remember this: Facebook is free and you don’t have to use it if you don’t want to. I don’t understand why people hate on everything Facebook does to improve its services. Yes, privacy is always a concern, but if you were really that worried about it you would not have a Facebook account.
So there, I said it! Now onto the changes.
The biggest change to Facebook is Timeline. From what I see from the demo, the changes seem very cool. Users will have the ability to create a timeline of important events, posts, and content from their lives. The best part is that users will have the ability to listen/watch songs/videos that there friends are currently listen to by simply hovering over their status update.
Facebook is now more than “likes”
People can now connect in many more ways then just liking something. Now they can integrate many other nouns into their status updates. For, example rather than it appearing as “Nolan likes a movie” it will appear as “Nolan is watching a movie” and so on.
How does this impact businesses
While it is still unclear whether or not these changes will be applied to business pages on Facebook, we will have to take a wait and see approach to how we can utilize these new features for business purposes.
Maybe they will address this later in the presentation…..Now back to the live feed!
